What is the difference between KN95 and N95 masks?

 

 

N95 is the certification level of the United States breathing apparatus, certified by the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). This type of mask can filter more than 95% of non-oily particles (aerosol) under the specified air flow rate (85L / min), so it is named N95. If it can filter more than 99% of particulate matter (aerosol), it is called N99 mask. In addition, corresponding to N95, KN95 is a respirator certified by China's GB2626-2006 self-priming filter anti-particulate respirator standard certification.

 

KN95 and N95 masks have the same level of protection, but they only follow the testing standards of different countries. KN95 masks follow Chinese standards, N95 masks follow US standards, and both of them are not less than 95% in protection against non-oily particles (experimental sodium chloride particles).

 

Can KN95 and N95 masks be used for first-line protection?

 

Both KN95 masks and N95 masks include medical and non-medical types. Among them, the masks with the "Medical" logo in the KN95 / N95 masks can be used for front-line protection during the anti-epidemic period for medical personnel. Masks without the "Medical" logo are not recommended for medical personnel, and ordinary people can use it. Class 1 and above masks that comply with GB19083 can not only achieve 95% filtration, but also prevent the penetration of liquids, and can be used for various operations in medical institutions.
